Programs at Country Ark Farm

Our Programs

Our On-Site Group program consists of a tour of the Farm, time to handle the animals, play time following lunch and craft time. This basic form is designed to fit the needs and skills of the children who will be participating. This is approximately a four hour visit. Other programs can be designed to fit your group - two hour visits, off-site petting zoos, or perhaps overnight respites.

NEW!!

"Summer Day Camp" available for specially-abled children ages 4-18. Camp hours are 8:00 am - 2:00 pm you provide the bag lunch and we will provide a week of fun and learning in a family/ farm setting with skilled and certified staff. Country Ark Farm has been providing summer day camp for the last six years. For Sponsorship Applications please call Maria Crawford at the Ingeborg A Biondo Memorial Foundation at 570 - 686-2402. Camp sponsorship is for specially-abled children in the tri-state only.

Country Ark Farm now offers Respite Care Visits. This program provides a stimulating visit for a disabled child - one-on-one in a loving family environment and allows the caregiver to have a day off with peace of mind. Days are available during the week and weekends. Call Donna Ciancitto, director, at 570-828-3480.

The Facility

Our facility is on 25 acres in the Pocono mountains and has an enclosed petting area, clean handicapped-accessible restrooms, an outdoor play area with a wheelchair accessible swing, indoor and outdoor picnic areas and a mile-long nature trail.

There are over 100 different animals that reside on the Farm plus a knowledgable volunteer staff which assist in animal handling and care of the visitors. At anytime during the visiting season (April-October) there is a variety of baby animals who can be handled and/or bottle-fed.

The Farm also has an eight bedroom lodge that is handicap accessible and available for overnight visits. Please call Donna Ciancitto, director, at 570-686-3480 for additional information on a personalized program for your group.
